I liked the premiere overall, but they need to wrap this shit up quick(which is what they are going to do from my understanding) because I am not watching BSG for the "Muddy, Rainy, Cylon Occupied Worldlet" episodes.
Get their asses back in space.

That, my friends, was capital ship combat at its finest. I hated to see the Beast go though. She was a BAD ship

I'm glad that RDM didn't have the ship do something cheesy like land or something of that nature. Aerial fire support would have been cool, but the Galactica wasn't designed for that sort of thing. And I have to say, by God the Adama Maneuver looked frackin' cool.

I enjoyed seeing the inner workings of a Cylon Basestar. I am curious where they are going with this whole finding Earth business and the fact there are five models of Cylons they don't talk about.

Galactica back for Season Four
Monday - February 12, 2007 | by Darren Sumner
The SCI FI Channel will renew Battlestar Galactica for its fourth year, the Los Angelese Times is reporting. The network is expected to formally announce the pick-up on Tuesday.
At least 13 new episodes will be produced this summer for a premiere next January, the paper said.
Fans of the critically-acclaimed series were given pause after the cable network's move of Galactica to Sunday nights failed to boost its ratings, which have dropped since Season Three premiered in October. (In its first two years, the show aired in the summer and winter alongside Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis).
Since changing nights in January, the show has averaged 1.7 million viewers overall, and 1.1 viewers in the coveted 18 to 49 age bracket.
"Battlestar is a cachet show," SCI FI head of programming Mark Stern said. "It gives us a lot of credibility with the creative community. It's the kind of series we want to continue producing in the future."
"I don't think we ever doubted doing another season," executive producer Ronald D. Moore said. "I design my season-ending cliffhangers with the hubris that we'll be back."

I read yesterday on Yahoo the ratings were down slightly overall, but I attribute that to more "twilight zone" episodes rather than the move in time slot. Might be the minority opinion there....
They do need to keep the love triangle and mindfuck episodes to a minimum.

The jump to the Raptor from the airlock was INTENSE.

My concern is with the overall development(or in this case lack of) of the storyline. Does it strike everyone as a little odd that Adama went all sickhouse on Tyrol only ONE episode after he authorized a risky Raptor rescue at the airlock? That's poor direction and production in my opinion. It's too fresh to have a social episode with Tyrol, Callie, et all right on the heels of a dramatic episode with Tyrol, Callie, et all.
Also, this Baltar shit. Look, after it is now common knowledge in the fleet that he betrayed the colonies in the primary Cylon attacks PLUS collaborated with them on New Caprica, why would anyone in the fleet read anything he has to say? Even if it relates to your own personal situation and the conditions of the fleet's work demographic, the 'book' is still the work of a confirmed traitor.
The President is dead wrong about this. Blow him out the airlock and be done with it...these colonials are dumb as fuck and their principles(like Picard having mercy on the Borg drone Hugh) are going to get them exterminated.
