thirty two students actually learned something yesterday on a college campus. which to me is news because learning rarely happens at such a location.

two things about this event are driving me insane. FIRST every newscast has someone saying “i can’t imagine why someone would do this”…really? you can’t imagine? what kind of boring passionless namby pambly sheltered-ass life are you living?! you can’t IMAGINE that anyone out there is in pain? or is crazy? or has been/is being pushed to the edge by stress? SECOND where were the MEN?! the MEN?!!! this was not a high school this was a college campus ages 18-26, that is draft age people…yet 32 “adults” managed to let themselfs be killed by ONE GUY. ONNNNNNEEE GUUUYYYY!!!!! killed . thirty two fat domesticated declawed housecats, wandering in the forest filled with vicous animals. this is a disgrace. it makes me sick. please…someone tell me a story of some able bodied MAN who saved some lives by charging at this guy…no no no they all had to LIVE. there lives are so precioous that they couldn’t risk it…why they have to go home and play warhammer. they had to go back to the dorm to see if thier parents sent them a check for a new ipod. for that matter how did they not manage to even scurry away?! from ONE GUY?! if i hear one more “mother” talk about how she’s pulling her child out of this school because it’s not safe, i’m just gonna snap. 1. a college age student is not a CHILD 2. NO PLACE IS SAFE. if you want your child to be SAFER you should get him/her to realize how dangerous the world is…maybe that person will start to be aware of his/her surroundings…pay attention to what is going on around him/her…know where an exit is…now what the SOUND OF GUNFIRE IS! there was ONE story so far about someone sacrificeing himself so that others could escape…A 75 YEAR OLD MAN WHO WAS A WWII HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR. a 75 year old man had to step infront of gunfire…anyone…and i pray that somehow this finds you, …anyone who was saved by this MAN…YOU MAKE ME SICK. YOU should have been saving HIM…what kind of human trash are you to scurry away and leave an old man to take a bullet for you. ONE guy with a 9mm pistol and a 22. some of you don’t know much about guns because you have lives sheltered lives and until now perhaps never thought you would have one sneak it’s way into your sunnyshine, rainbowy, pot filled world. I will explain them to you…a 22 is the smallest bullet there is. it is less than a quarter of an inch and a friend of mine got shot with one, from a block away, and it bounded off his leather jacket…this is what you use to hunt squirrles and you usually have to shoot them twice. the 9mm was a “Glock” brand hand gun. deadly, idiot, proof never jams or fails…holds at best 15 bullets. this means he had to STOP AND RELOAD…probably four or five times because it’s not like a video game, shooting a moving target with a handgun is VERY HARD TO DO. yet with all this 32 people still managed to let themselfs be killed. 32 did not run fast enough, or God forbid, attack the guy and disarm him.

there is nothing wrong with living in the suburbs…away from violence, with a nice house , and nice neighbors and having no problems other than who gets to pick up little Sally from soccer practice..it is when you FORGET that the rest of the world is very different that you become a problem…you become a fat dumb slow sheep that some brave 75 year old goat has to die to save.

You are only partly correct. If there were no guns the coward whom committed the act and then killed himself, would have used another weapon be it whatever he fancied (baseball bat, explosive charge, nuclear weapon). Pretty much whatever you could think of can be used as a weapon.

Never underestimate a humans imagination when devising death dealing items. As for the dead, I only really blame the first able bodied male who decided to run and hide behind an old man and screaming women rather than fight. A simple rush would have closed the distance of only a few feet. Personally I would hope that I would have stood up and been a man of it. Go down swinging, I don't know for certain, but I would hope. I know that Audie Murphy would not have run, Roger Young didn't and God knows Alvin York would not have.
