I'm not much of an AOL fan, but they have an awesome TV website. I'm watching Babylon 5 now. It does have short commercials, but can be expanded to full screen. I'm not sure how well it works with dial up. It has the classic Wonder woman, Lois and Clark, and may other shows. television.aol.com/in2tv

It seems to me my favorite childhood TV shows were cut short, and didn't have very long runs like: Battlestar Galactica Buck Rogers Greatest American Hero.
I think it wasn't until Star Trek: TNG that a sci fi fantasy show had a run like that. Does anybody know why?

Higher add rates and shrinking special effects costs are what made TNG truly successful. The original BSG cost nearly a million dollars per episode in the late 70's. There was no way to reap any profit off of it therefore the network pulled the plug. Then they punished the fans with Galactica 80(I liked it but I may have been the ony one, I'm sure if I saw it now it would only anger me).
