I thought it would be a good idea to share a website with everyone here that may be helpful, or is just an awesome design. My pick for this week is: www.worldlingo.com/en/websites/url_translator.htmlI tried it out. Not a useful link for most, but pretty awesome if you want to read some pages in Chinese, Russian, or Japanese. It has quite a few languages. The pick for this week is: Guess the Dictator or Sit-com Character. www.smalltime.com/dictator.htmlThis is a clever guessing game. The data base has to be tremendous. I tried everyone from Stalin to JJ on Goodtimes and it guessed it right. The only short coming is brand new TV sit coms, but it asks questions to increase it's data base.

I'm betting it is probably your power supply has burned out. If anyone there has an old obsolete computer you should be able to switch them out if the computer is not to old. Of course some computers have smaller units, and typically a brand new one for older comptuers can run around $50. Changinig them out is very simple to do.

I like AOE II better than the rest of the series also. I have AOE III, and it has really good graphics and more of a story line, but it is too easy. I like some of the features of AOE III, but the computer AI is sorely lacking even in the hardest mode. I just toted around 30 artillery pieces and wiped the computer out. It will only come at you with 1 or 2 artillery guns.

I really liked the Lunar series. It oringally came out on Sega CD, but Playstation adapted it because there was such a following for it. The graphics are very crude compared to FF7 and above, but the story line was fantastic. It is probably my favorite for console games.
Dot Hack is a very good and interesting concept. The basis of this series is you are in the real world and log into an online game world in the future. There is some odd things going on and it appears to be affecting the real world. Each game in the series comes with an anime DVD about what is happening in the real world. Graphics not so great, but very creative story line.
One I played last year that I reccomend is Ocean Star. It has tons of things to do, and a great story line.

Celeron's perform poorly in comparison to Pentiums and AMD's. They bottle neck the information even with alot of memory.

She more than likely has XP, unless they installed Linux. Your freezes and or crashes are probably software conflicts, or if you have added any hardware your drivers may not be updated. Also as Highlord put it earlier Intel chips run hotter and over heats alot easier.
Now let me adddress a dual-core. A dual-core CPU combines two independent processors and their respective caches and cache controllers onto a single silicon chip, or integrated circuit. IBM's POWER4 was the first microprocessor to incorporate 2-cores on a single die.
Right now you don't get much bang for your buck. By 2008 you will see huge performance boost over standard CPU processors. I wouldn't worrry about upgrading just yet. You just wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference for the price you will be paying.

Derrick a great accesory for your lap top is an Antec laptop cooler. It is about $35 and has an aluminum top and two fans. One draws away warm air and one draws in cooler air. It plugs into a USB port, but has an adapter so you do not lose the USB port. It has a hi and lo setting. It really is great if you like to sit the lap top on your lap, couch, or bed etc... as it greatly reduces chance of over heating. You can get it at Staples, or maybe Office Depot.

If anyone is buying a new computer for Christmas, or getting a new one in the near future I would like to make a reccomendation. Intel by far leads the market in processors manufacturing, but AMD puts out a more reliable product. For my past 3 computers I have only used AMD processors and have been very happy with them. Don't be fooled by the GHZ either. A 2.8 GHZ AMD processes data faster than an Intel 4.0 GHZ. GHz is misleading when it comes to performance. Even though the Intel chip is going faster in MHz, it is doing less work per clock cycle. This results in more clock cycles being required to produce the same results, and therefore its net output is something less than the MHz value alone would indicate.
I highly reccomend AMD over Intel. I think you will be happier with the superior performance.

One or two of you may have heard of the Rootkits Sony put in some of their CD's. Rootkits are basically for most cases a form of malware, or spyware that can hide or obscure it's self on your computer. I use a program called Rootkit revealer that can help nail down the culprits. This is kind of an advanced program and is not as easy to use as most anti virus softwares, but it is freeware. Here is the website: www.sysinternals.com/utilities/rootkitrevealer.html

Well, two new revolutions are blazing across the net. Podcasting is a thriving stable medium for online radio broadcasting, and VEOH.com is a new medium that will allow anyone to produce their own TV show and share it with the NET. Both are obscure to the majority, but within the next year or so they should be exploding. Users will be able to micro manage what they want to watch and listen to. You can get a download of VEOH at www.veoh.com, it is still in the Beta testing, but has a few hundred shows to browse and watch. Maybe Patrick will start doing his own podcast or VEOH show in the near future.
